RELATIONSHIP TIP OF THE WEEK #003
SHARED VISION
In the book You, Inc. the author relates a story of a counselor was interviewed
by Dr. James Dobson over what one key element is apparent in all successful marriages.
The answer? Shared vision.
From
the book, "According to the counselor, one of the
key ingredients to a successful marriage is a shared
vision. The counselor observed that most young married
couples start out dreaming, usually about having a family
and owning their own home. Then, a few years down the
road, they discover they've accomplished those dreams...
and then they make a fatal mistake. They don't think
up new dreams!
Tragically,
husbands and wives who stop dreaming together often start
drifting apart. The marriage counselor concluded his
talk with this statement: 'Without exception, successful
married couples have a SHARED VISION they are always
working toward.'"
Be
sure to create ongoing shared visions with your partner
to enhance the future of the relationship. (SOURCE: You,
