FILTER FOR THE RESULTS YOU WANT
Many people who use online dating services complain about getting emails, messages,
and "winks" from people that they'd never consider dating in a million
years (due to age, location, etc.). There's an easy solution to this problem
- use
your profile as a filter.
To
use your profile as a filter, simply state exactly what
you are looking for and make it clear that you won't
respond to people outside of those parameters. For example,
if you know you won't date anyone under 25 or over 35
who is not local, then state prominently in your profile, "will
respond only to those between the ages of 25 and 35 and
within 20 miles of my location". To help filter
who views your profile, you can use your subject header
as a filter - "Interested only in local 25-35 year
old men." Being clear on what you want will greatly
decrease communications from those not fitting those
parameters while providing you with more desired results.
