Dont bother with the BBB, they are a complete joke and you will not likely get you anything for your time. To get a refund just call your credit card company and do a chargeback, tell the credit card company that you canceled the service. Per the credit card merchant agreements the business MUST prove you used the service after the billing or refund the money reguardless of the refund policy.

Although rebilling is sneaky, it is up the consumer to be aware of the activity that is going to occur on their account. Before you sign up for anything it is important to be aware of the reply by dates to avoid spending extra money.

I don’t know if “no luck” however, can justify a refund from the dating site – it’s not their fault unless an explicit gaurantee was made.

Websites which have auto-renewal option, also offer the option of cancellation of the recurring bill. Once you cancel the subscription they shouldn’t charge you in the next billing cycle.

The refund policy differs from one site to another and that’s why it is important to read the TOS (terms of service) before paying for the service.

Agree with all the above. Automated rebilling is one of the sneakiest ways online subscription services make their loot. Believe it or not, they get away with it because most people just let it go and do not bother with a refund.
