(Online Dating Newsletter) Return to childhood for a day by going on a play date with your partner. For your play date you should select an activity that would typically be considered something for kids to enjoy and then go out and enjoy it yourself. In order for this date idea to work, you and your significant other have to agree before hand to completely let your guard down and not worry about what others may think of you. You have to truly think like a kid and enjoy being silly, rambunctious, and active.

Great examples of enjoyable play dates include:

» going to a video arcade
» venturing out to a park where you can swing on the swings, climb the monkey bars, twirl on the merry-go-round and play tag
» visiting a beach to make sand castles and splash in the water.

If you work up an appetite on your play date, make sure you eat the sugary, greasy foods that kids love like pizza, ice cream, and candy – you know you still like it, too!

(Online Dating Newsletter) Stargazing can be very romantic, but what if you live in a big city full of lights or the weather is cloudy and you can’t see the beautiful night sky? If you can’t get away to a secluded clear-skied area, take your date to a show at the planetarium. The two of you can lie back in the planetarium seats in the dark and enjoy the splendid show of planets, stars, and constellations. This creative idea can set the mood for a romantic evening and, who knows, you might learn something, too!

(Online Dating Newsletter) Imagine literally whisking your date off her/his feet by surprising them with a helicopter tour of your city or local landmark. A helicopter ride can be an exciting adventure for you and your date to share. While they tend to be on the expensive side, it may be worth it to take this once-in-a-lifetime sightseeing tour. Exciting experiences always have a lasting impact on those that participate in them and a helicopter tour is a fun and unique way to get to know a city from a different perspective.

Helicopter rides are available in most major cities and over many landmark areas. You and your date can take a private aerial tour of downtown Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston, or Las Vegas, just to name a few. Vacation spots also typically offer helicopter rides. Niagara Falls helicopter rides give an up close and personal look at the giant waterfalls while Hawaii offers tours over active volcanoes. Other unique spots that offer Helicopter tours are Mount Saint Helens, the Grand Canyon, and the Statue of Liberty. Check your area to see what is offered or try this date idea out while on vacation.

(Online Dating Newsletter) Going to the movie theater to watch a film is a common enjoyable date activity, but why not add some creativity to the common idea of a movie date? Create a movie theater right in your own living room as a fun and pleasant surprise for your partner! Here’s how:

Prepare your partner for the date by sending them a ticket stub that you have created, either by mail or by dropping it off at their home or work. Make sure you let them know the ticket is redeemable at your house on the day and hour of your planned date. When your date arrives, answer the door in a suit or red vest (similar to those taking tickets at a real movie theater). Take your date’s ticket stub and proceed with them to the “concession stand” where you will have popcorn, soda (in the plastic cups), and candy available to them “free of charge”. Make sure the area where you are going to watch the DVD is set up for optimum viewing, perhaps with extra pillows on the couch or dimmed lights to give that movie theater feel. Choose a movie that you think your date would enjoy versus one you would prefer and give your date a “refill” of popcorn or soda, as they need it, throughout the evening.

This date idea is not only fun and creative, it will also make your date feel extra special because it requires extra effort, lots of attention toward your partner, and additional thought on your part.

(Online Dating Newsletter) One of the most thrilling and creative dates you can go on is a glider ride. Glider rides, offered in most states, are a high-soaring adventure that starts with a plane towing your glider (which has a pilot) high into the air and letting it go to glide across the skies. This concept offers spectacular views and the thrill of silently soaring amongst the clouds. Rides last anywhere from 15 -45 minutes and cost anywhere from $75 to $200. Yet the memories of such a creative date and fun adventure are priceless.

(Online Dating Newsletter) Like the sun, the moon also sets in the West. If you happen to be in the right place, on the right day, and at the right time then you and your date can watch the moon slowly set. Seeing the moon set amongs a backdrop of the ocean or mountains is particularly enjoyable. During the moon’s “waning gibbous phase” you can see it set between sunset and midnight.

(Online Dating Newsletter) Miniature golf is a fun game for people of all ages. And the more original and themed the golf course is, the more fun it can be. But if you’re planning a “creative date” that involves miniature golf, you’ll want to take the game to the next level so that it becomes a game your date will never forget. How do you do this? By raising the stakes so that your date wins a gift for every time he/she makes Par or better on each hole! Here’s how it works:

Step 1: Prepare in advance for the date by wrapping 18 small gifts (one for each hole). If you want, you can theme the gifts to the miniature golfing experience (i.e. One wrapped gift is a box of 20 tokens to use in the arcade; another is a chocolate golf ball, etc.).

Step 2: Label each gift (Hole 1, Hole 2, Hole 3, etc.) and put all the gifts in a nice bag (like a gift bag you can buy at stationary or card stores).

Step 3: Bring the bag on your date and show the bag to your date, letting him/her know see how they are labeled and that for each hole he/she makes Par or better, they get a gift!

Step 4: Each time your date makes par on one of the holes, let him/her immediately open the gift associated with that hole.

Now what if your date only makes par on a couple of holes and you’re left holding all those gifts? Prepare in advance for this probability by bringing a bonus card that states your date automatically wins ALL the gifts if he/she beats you. Don’t give your date the card until the end. As an alternative, if he/she hits a hole in one on the last hole, you can verbally say that qualifies him/her to win all the gifts.

A lot of bowling alleys, in a quest to attract more customers, are offering a “neon bowling night” where the use of black lights and specially colored pins and bowling balls (that react to the blacklight) add a new element to the entire bowling experience. Because this is a unique concept in bowling, it makes a fun creative date idea giving you and your date some fun things to talk about while trying to top each other’s score.

Most people love surprises and one of the ultimate surprises you can give your partner is a well-planned secret date. With a surprise date, your partner knows only the day and time the date will take place and no other details. To make the date one to be remembered, try to plan it around something your partner likes, but rarely gets to do. For example, perhaps the girl loves musicals, but hasn’t been out to see one in years. A surprise date to a musical may fill her heart with notes of joy. Perhaps the guy loves thrills. A surprise trip to a thrill park (or extreme activity like sky diving) may be just the ticket.

When planning a surprise date, it is important not to give any clues whatsoever. The element of surprise is so much stronger when the person has no idea. The anticipation alone creates a lot of fun emotions for the person receiving the surprise.

Surprises during the surprise date are also nice. You may have a surprise note for each meal that tells the person something you like about them. The key is to keep the day fun and full of special moments that will make it forever memorable.

Plan a late night trip to the beach with your date. In advance, go to a party store and buy a couple of glow sticks. When you arrive at the beach, present your partner with one of the glow sticks, light them up and have fun! You’ll find that throwing the glow sticks to/at each other and in the air is quite fun and a neat visual. But in addition, you can throw the glow sticks into the ocean waves and they’ll wash back up. It’s like playing fetch with the ocean. You throw it and the waves bring it back. The light from the glow stick in the water is also quite enjoyable to watch. Just be sure to pick up and properly dispose of your glow stick when you’re ready to leave. While at the beach, enjoy the opportunity to sit down and have a good talk.
